The Nature Investment Lab (NIL) is a collaborative initiative focused on innovation that enables the unlocking of investments in Nature-Based Solutions (NbS). NIL works to understand disruptive business models and to develop and test innovative financial mechanisms that bring capital closer to those driving restoration, sustainable use of natural resources, and ecosystem regeneration.
Its purpose is to bridge the gap between investors and innovative businesses focused on restoration, bioeconomy, and regenerative agriculture—structuring mechanisms that allow impact enterprises to access capital and scale their solutions.
As part of this work, NIL conducted a public call to identify and support companies that stand out for their nature-based approach and have the potential to contribute both to the country’s economic development and to achieving emission reduction and carbon removal goals aligned with Brazil’s NDC.
These companies received technical assistance in financial structuring, with the goal of making their projects viable and developing replicable and scalable solutions that can benefit the broader nature investment ecosystem.
