This event was the official launch of Nature Investment Lab(NIL), that happened during NY Climate Week in 2024.
The Nature Investment Lab (NIL) is an innovative initiative addressing the urgent need to develop Nature-based Solutions (NbS) projects in Brazil, supporting the country’s NDC goals. Building on previous discussions with project developers, financiers, and regulators, the Lab aims to overcome key challenges in scaling up NbS financing and will focus on restoration, bioeconomy, and regenerative agriculture, with outcomes expected by COP 30.
As a private sector-led collaborative platform, the Lab will unite policymakers, regulators, companies, philanthropic institutions, project developers, financial institutions, and international organizations to mobilize greater private sector investment in NbS. The Lab will create the necessary regulatory, legal, and transactional frameworks to scale up NbS investments. Coordinated by the Secretariat, efforts will be organized into three taskforces: Regulatory and Policy, Innovative Pilot Transactions, and Transaction Costs and Impacts.
This event marks the official launch of the Nature Investment Lab, offering a unique opportunity to engage with thought leaders, financiers, and experts dedicated to advancing NbS in Brazil.
